Monte D. Caddy age 70 of Ironton died on August 5, 2017 at his home.  He was born in Crosby at Miner’s Hospital on January 31, 1947 to John and Irene (Hoggarth) Caddy.  Monte married DeAnn Wilson on October 1, 1997 in Brainerd.  He was a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran.  He was a former M.A. Hanna Mining Employee, a former Minneapolis Star and Tribune delivery person, he was a truck driver for Carl Erickson Trucking Company in Deer River and a retired truck driver for Earl B. Olson Farms; Monte was the owner and operator of Triple H Trucking Company.  He was a member of the Myrin-James American Legion Post 443, Ironton.

Monte is survived by his wife DeAnn; three sons, John Caddy of Ironton, Larry (Carleen) Matuska of Kurland, WA and Shawn Wilson of Hawley; four daughters, Lori Caddy of Brainerd, Jill (Ron) Hofstrand of Deerwood, Jessica Wilson of Crosby and Jacalyn Wendt of Grand Rapids; twenty grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.

Preceding Monte in death are his parents; his 1st wife, Jacqueline (Evans) Caddy and one sister, Joan Houle.

Private graveside services were held at the Woodland Cemetery in Irondale Township with full military honors given by the Myrin-James American Legion Post #443.  Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
