Betty Lou Mingus age 90 of Crosby died on January 8, 2019 at the Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby. She was born in Duluth, Minnesota on February 29, 1928 to James and Mary (Meyers) Bryant. Betty married Douglas Mingus on December 31, 1949 in Duluth. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Aitkin. Betty had a love for animals, entertaining and decorating the table for dinner. She was known for being a baker and delivering her hot crossed buns to people in the community.
Betty is survived by her husband Douglas; two sons, David Mingus of Nashville, TN and Mark (Laurie) Mingus of Thompson’s Station, TN; one daughter, Cynthia (Donald) Lent of Deerwood; sister-in-law, Shirley Bryant of Cloquet; five grandchildren, Megan Lent, Andrew Lent, Rachel (Joshua) Mingus Nienow, Ericka (Jonathan) Mingus Sugiyama, and Nathan (Mallory) Mingus; two great grandchildren, Brandon Lent and Deklan Mingus.
Preceding Betty in death are her parents and two brothers, Donald and Robert Bryant.
A Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 14, 2019 at St. James Catholic Church in Aitkin. Burial will be at the St. Thomas Cemetery in Aitkin. Visitation will be on Sunday at the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby from 4 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. and on Monday one hour prior to the services at the church.
