Dwight R. Semler, age 77 of Irondale Township died on August 6, 2019 at Essentia St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd. He was born on July 7, 1942 to Leon and Christine (Norman) Semler. Dwight graduated from the Crosby-Ironton High School, class of 1960. After graduating he went to work with his dad at the sawmill. He married Mabel Anderson in Crosby on August 5, 1967. Together with his wife, attended the International School of Ministry, graduating in 2003. Dwight and Mabel have pastored the Iron Range Christian Center following their graduation. Dwight was a member, where he has served as treasurer and secretary of Tops/Kops and he also ran Fair For All for 31 years. Dwight offered help to anyone who needed assistance with financing, and enjoyed assisting the elderly.
Dwight is survived by his wife, Mabel; two sons, Raymond Semler of Deerwood and Matthew (Karla) Semler of North Branch; two daughters, Kristine (Jeff) Brown of Eagle Bend; Mary Anne (Mark) Louks of Deerwood; mother-in-law; Bonnie George of Deerwood; one brother, Delmer Semler of Cosa Grande, AZ; one sister, Alice De St.Croix of Seattle, WA; several grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Dwight in death are his parents; four infant siblings; three sisters, Norma Linquist,
Lucille Caird, and Betty Ruedy and a brother, Ellsworth “Sonny” Semler; and two infant grandchildren, Anthony and Alexander Louks.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 15, 2019 at the Assembly of God Church in Crosby. Burial will be at the Woodland Cemetery in Irondale Township. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4 to 8 pm at the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby and one hour prior to the services at the church on Thursday. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.
