Edna Mae Ebnet, 97, of Aitkin passed away peacefully with her son Arthur by her side August 14th at Cuyuna Regional Care center in Crosby.

Edna was born February 7, 1920 in Rice Minnesota to Frank and Mae Janski.  Edna married Lawrence Ebnet on January 7, 1941.

Edna was a dedicated wife and mother who worked tirelessly on the family farm and for a time worked as a janitor at the Deerwood Bank. Edna tended to the family garden, put up all the winter food from the garden, helped with the milking and harvesting along with putting a bounty of food on the table at least three times a day. She was a wonderful cook and an accomplished seamstress making much of the family clothing and quilts for the beds.

She was preceded in death by her Father (Frank) and Mother (Mae), six brothers (Henry, Delmar, Alphonse, Lorenzo, Maurice, and Norbert) and six sisters (Evelyn, Bernice, Irene, Ethel, Effie and Marjorie), Her husband Lawrence, Daughter Diane, Grandson Jon and Daughter-in-law Mary Ann.

She is survived by four sons, Allen and Art of Aitkin, Duane (wife Elsie) of Delano and Malaysia, Marvin of Anchorage, Alaska. Grandchildren Adam, Angeline, Matthew, Lisa (husband John) and Great grandchildren Ian, Tristan, Nolan, Atticus; and son-in-law, John Smith of Honolulu, HI.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 am on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Deerwood.  Burial will be at the Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the services at the church on Tuesday.  Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
