Eileen Marie Harrison, age 84 of Crosby died on September 28, 2019 at her home. She was born on May 21, 1935 in Nordland Township, MN to Edward and Esther (Hasselius) Bodin. She married Richard Harrison on September 20, 1952 in Virginia, MN. In addition to leading many of her own bible studies and prayer groups, Eileen was also active in Bible Study Fellowship and started MotherWise with Remnant Ministry Center. She served as a Sunday School teacher for many years at the Crosby Assembly of God where she also started a bus ministry. She was a counselor for Lakes Area Pregnancy Support Center and a Volunteer Chaplain for Crow Wing County where she participated in the women’s jail ministry for many years. She was an early supporter and volunteer for the Brainerd Crisis Line and Referral Service. She was one of the founders of The Fire Escape, a faith-based community outreach in Crosby. Eileen started Remnant Ministry Center’s library and flag ministries. She was a gifted bible teacher and she hosted numerous missions’ groups, prayer meetings and baptisms at her home on Serpent Lake and cabin on Upper Mission Lake.
Eileen is survived by her husband, Dick; two sons, Steve (Martha) Harrison of Brainerd and Randy (Starr) Harrison of Maple Grove; one daughter, Deb Harrison of Ironton; one brother, Cecil (Verda) Bodin of Bloomington; seven grandchildren, Molly (Michael) Blowers, Dan (Autumn) Harrison, Brieanna (Michael) Groves, Brandon (Jenna) Harrison, Lee Piirainen, Jordon (Ashton) Harrison and Mariah (Perry) Smith; and nineteen great grandchildren.
Preceding Eileen in death are her parents, one grandson, Calvin Leonard; one brother, Clifford Bodin and one sister, Mabel Clodfelter.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, October 6, 2019 at the Salem Lutheran Church in Deerwood. Burial will be at the Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Sunday. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial gift to Minnesota Adult & Teen Challenge, Brainerd Minnesota. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
