Florence Liebl Zilka

Florence Liebl Zilka age 95 of Crosby formerly of Crosslake died on June 14, 2018 at the Cuyuna Regional Care Center in Crosby.  She was born on the farm of her parents, William and Ida (Olson) Liebl on the November 18, 1922. She spent 32 years as a Benedictine Sister of Annunciation Monastery in Bismarck, N.D.  She spent ten years in Olympia, WA with her husband, Bernard Zilka.  After his death in 1992 she lived with Bernard’s oldest child, Anthony M. in Portland, OR.  Florence moved to Crosslake, MN in 2000 where she lives with her oldest sister, Lucille Graham for 61/2 years.  In 2007 she moved to Crosby.

Preceding Florence in death by her parents; her husband, Bernard; one brother, Bill Liebl and two sisters, Lucille Graham and Dorothy Zilka.

Florence is survived by her step children, Anthony (Teresa) Zilka of Portland, OR, Cecilia (Richard) Talcott of Olympia, WA and Serena (Rob) Wastman of Seattle, WA; five step grandchildren, Isaiah, Luke, Bo, Isaac and Natalie; one sister, Wilma Jenkins of Houghton, MI; nephews, Jerry (Karen) Graham of Duluth and Peter (Janet) Zilka of Bolingbrook, Il and many other nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, July 5, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Crosby. Burial will be at the Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, OR. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the building fund at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Crosby (PO Box 69, Crosby, MN 56441) or the Benedictine Annunciation Monastery 7520 University Dr., Bismarck, ND, 58504.  Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
