Genevieve Irene Hill age 98 of Crosby formerly of Deerwood died on December 31, 2017 at the Cuyuna Regional Care Center in Crosby.  She was born on January 21, 1919 in Parkersburg, Iowa to Clifford and Trena (Vanderlaan) Johnson.  Genevieve was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Deerwood, the Cuyuna Range Senior Citizens Club and the Walter Scott Erickson American Legion Auxiliary, Post 557 of Deerwood.

Genevieve is survived by one son, Michael (Pamela) Hill of Ironton; two daughters, Leanne Genderon of Baxter and Barbara (Ronald) Kriener of Myrtle Beach, SC; Eleven grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Preceding Genevieve in death are her parents; one son, Gary; four brothers, Merton, Lee, Arnold and Robert Johnson; and two sisters, Gertrude Johnson and Clara Wittren.

A graveside service will be at held on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at the Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby. A reception will follow at 12:30 p.m. at the Walter Scott Erickson American Legion Post in Deerwood.  Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
