James Edward Johnson age 80 of Deerwood died on December 1, 2018 at the Cuyuna Regional Care Center in Crosby. He was born on February 23, 1938 in Crosby to John and Eva (Sanderson) Johnson. Jim was a Crosby-Ironton High School graduate, class of 1956. He was a U.S. Army National Guard, Crosby and U.S. Navy veteran. He owned and operated Johnson Oil, Crosby. Jim enjoyed working for Bodega Pizza Parlor and Addie’s Attic both in Crosby. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Crosby. An avid outdoors man, he loved hunting, fishing. He also enjoyed family gatherings and playing cards.
Jim is survived by his life partner, Addie Finck; one daughter, Jeanne “Missy” (Ted) Lagerquist of Aurora; daughter-in-law, Shawna (Jerry) Fuhrer; one brother, Scott Johnson of Deerwood; two sisters, Kay (Greg) Jarvela of Deerwood and Linda Hanson of Onalaska, WA; seven grandchildren, JB (Amanda), Charlie (Cory) Minion, David and Laken, Damion and Bobby Jo, Dominique and Nathen Ross, Jacob and Kaleigh; seventeen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Jim in death are his parents; two brothers, Jack and Grant Johnson; two sons, Jeff and James Johnson; and a great grandson, Cedrik Ross.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 8, 2018 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Crosby with full military honors by the Myrin-James American Legion Post #443, Ironton. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church on Saturday. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
