John O. Larson, 72 of Crosby died at Fairview Hospital in Princeton on Saturday, November 16, 2019. He was born on June 20, 1947 in Mobridge, SD to Carl Arthur and Frieda (Nies) Larson.
John married Charlotte Endrizzi on March 15, 1969 in Emily.
John’s family moved to Emily in 1963 where he graduated from the Crosby-Ironton High School and from Staples Technical College as a machinist. He worked for BNSF for 40 years, spent 20 years on the Ironton Fire Department, as well a passionate rancher and cowboy his whole life.
The “Big Guy” loved his wife and life and cherished his children, their spouses and grandkids. He loved his ranch, the horses and cattle and was so very proud of the legacy he passed on to his families.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Char; his five children, their spouses; Tracy Larson of Crosby, Travis (Tammy) Larson of Crosby, Amy (Bill) Clark of Byron, John (Jennifer) Larson of Baxter , Jason (Laura) Larson of Zimmerman; grandchildren, Jamie (Monica), Holly, Jake, Madison, Taylor, Jonny, Tari, Ryan, Hannah, Avery and Anja; two brothers, Carl (Doreen) Larson of Crosby and Doug (Joni) Larson of Emily; one sister, Mary Ann Franz of Hibbing and several nieces and nephews and many in-laws.
John is preceded in death by his parents, Art and Frieda Larson; his father and mother-in-law, Dave and Lelah Endrizzi; two brother-in-laws, Conrad Franz and Jerry Endrizzi; and nephew, Jesse Larson.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 23, 2019 at the Emily City Hall in Emily. Visitation will be on Friday at the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby from 4:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Burial will be at the Pine Ridge Cemetery in Emily.
