June Arlette (Ewing) Simon, age 100, died peacefully on May 15, 2017 at home in her apartment at Heartwood Senior Living Community surrounded by family.  June was born on May 19, 1916 in St. Paul, MN.  She was adored by four generations of children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren.  June had a passion for watching the Minnesota Twins, Vikings and sharing with her families many activities.  June was the oldest member of the Hallett Community Center where she loved her aqua aerobics which gave her a zest for life.  She had fond memories of her family and friends enjoying her Placid Lake area cabin in the pines for over 70 years. 

June is survived by one son, David Simon of Oakdale; four daughters, Sharon McGinnis of Maplewood, Shirley (Floyd) Hale of Crosby, Linda (Glenn Olson) Simon of Minneapolis and Joan (Dale) Wikre of Spring Valley, WI; eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Preceding June in death are her parents, Samuel and Hazel Ewing; her husband, Frederick in 1998; one son, Frederick Jr. and one brother, Richard Ewing.

Funeral services will be 4:00 pm on Friday, May 19, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Deerwood. Burial will be at the Deerwood Scandia Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to services at the church on Friday.  Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Hallett Community Center Foundation or St. Joseph Catholic Church of Deerwood.
