Kenneth Vincent "Doc" Laine

Kenneth Vincent “Doc” Laine age 71 of Brainerd died on September 22, 2018 at his home surrounded by family.  He was born in Aitkin on February 19, 1947 to Arne and Irene (Pennington) Laine.  Ken was employed as a mechanic for many years in Salt Lake City, Utah and at Tomken Auto in Ironton.  He owned Fire Safety Service and Equipment in Backus and Contour Design, the first Tattoo and Piercing Parlor in Brainerd

Ken is survived by his wife Karen; two step daughters, Laurie (Bob) Turner of Brainerd and Michelle Olson of Rockford; one step son, Jeff (Dawn) Thomas of Montgomery; two sisters, Alma (Lee) Hemness of Brook Park and Charlene (Dave) Anderson of Ramsey; one brother, Gary (Melonie) Laine of Aitkin; and special friend/cousin Russell (Connie) Gretschmann of Aitkin; seven grandchildren, many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Preceding Ken in death are his parents; one son, Kenneth Laine; one daughter, Karen Laine and two grandchildren.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. with Sharing of Memories at 3:00 p.m.  Burial will be at the Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby.
