Larry E. Hayes age 84 of Crosby died at the Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby on Sunday.  He was born on March 28, 1933 in Minneapolis.  Larry married Dorothea Springer on June 18, 1954 in Spring Lake Park.   He was a retired highway tech for the Minnesota Department of Transportation with 38 years of service.  Larry was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Crosby.  Larry was involved with the Cuyuna Iron Range Heritage Network and the Soo Line Depot Museum.

Larry is survived by his wife Dotty; two daughters, Kathryn (Louis) Pearson-Brevik of Hoyt Lakes and Christine (Curtis) Southmayd of Crosby; three brothers, Jerry Hayes, William O’Connor and Patrick O’Connor; two sisters, Connie Wreath and Vivian Knode and three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Crosby.  Burial will be at the Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church on Saturday.  Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
