Paul Olson Obituary

Paul V. Olson age 84 of Deerwood formerly of Andover died on December 11, 2018 at the Cuyuna Regional Care Center in Crosby.  He was born on December 24, 1933 in Deerwood to Axel and Emma (Marsh) Olson Sr.   He was a U.S. Army veteran.  Paul married Darlene Peterson on June 10, 1961 in Minneapolis.  He retired from the American Can Company, later known as International Paper, Minneapolis in 1998 with over 35 years of service.  

 

Paul is survived by his wife, Darlene; one daughter, Sheri Peterson of Cambridge; three sons, Bret Bourdagh of Amery, WI, Jeffery Olson of Deerwood and Troy Olson of Isanti; two brothers, Donald (Karen) Olson of Lake Catherine, TN, James (Mary) Olson of Prather, CA; three sisters, Margo (Bill) Barr of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Florence “Flo” (Dennis) Mott of Portland, OR and Ida (Dennis) Robinson of Randall, MN; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

 

Preceding Paul in death are his parents; one son, Gregory Olson; three brothers, Hank, Axel Jr., and Fred Olson; and one sister, Leona Bryant.

 

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at the Salem Lutheran Church in Deerwood.  Burial will be at the Deerwood Scandia Cemetery with full military honors presented by the Walter Scott Erickson American Legion Post #5557, Deerwood. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church on Saturday. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
