Ronald J. Pankratz age 88 of Deerwood died on October 21, 2019 at Aicota Health Care Center in Aitkin. He was born on June 18, 1931 in Valders, WI to Ralph and Estelle (Thielman) Pankratz.
He was a Korean Conflict Navy veteran. Ron married Margery Hughes on May 31, 1958 in Dodge County. Ron was a retired employee with Peoples Natural Gas in Rosemount with 37 years of service and was a retired Rosemount Fireman with 17 years of service. Ron was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Crosby; a member and past commander of the Rosemount American Legion Post #65 and a member of the Walter Scott Erickson American Legion Post #557 of Deerwood.
Ron is survived by his wife, Margery; one son, David Pankratz of Brainerd; two daughters, Vicky (Pat) Ruiz of Rosemount and Pamela Boyd of Garrison; one brother, Gary Pankratz of Fairbault; one sister Sandy Pankratz of Fountain City, WI; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Preceding Ron in death are his parents; one son, Richard Pankratz and one brother, Thomas Pankratz.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 28, 2019 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Crosby. Burial will be at the Scandia Cemetery in Deerwood with full military honors by the Walter Scott Erickson American Legion. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
