Albert Schewe, age 83, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2026 at Whitefish at the Lakes Senior Living in Crosslake MN. He was born on June 20, 1943, in Blue Earth, Minnesota to Gilbert and Thelma (Werner) Schewe.
Albert was a teacher in one form or another all of his life. He taught high school math early in his career. Then he worked in systems support at General Mills. He finished his career teaching math again, this time at Anoka Ramsey Community College.
He found ways to live out his faith in every aspect of his life, whether teaching, volunteering, or working at General Mills. He always found ways to share the blessings he had received with others. It is said that one could see the kindness in his eyes and he showed that when sharing his faith and helping others.
Albert is survived by his wife Barb; his sons, Jonathan and Daniel (Alexis); sister Margaret (Roger); brother Leslie (Joan); sister-in-law, Sharon; grandchildren, Sam and Ben; step-grandchildren, Andrew and Chumani.
Preceding Albert in death are his parents Gilbert and Thelma and brother Herb.
A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 3rd, 2026, at Mission of the Cross Lutheran Church in Crosslake, MN. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. with the service at 11:00 a.m. A light lunch will be held following the service. A burial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 4th at the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Blue Earth, MN. A reception will follow.
His family is grateful for the care that he received at Whitefish at the Lakes Senior Living and from St. Croix hospice.
Memorials are preferred to Whitefish Senior Living, St. Croix hospice, or Mission of the Cross Lutheran Church. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
