Alfred P. Sarracco

Alfred P. Sarracco, age 95 of Aitkin died on December 19, 2019 at Golden Horizon’s in Aitkin.  He was born on October 6, 1924 in St. Paul to Christopher and Theresa (Corbi) Sarracco. Alfred married Shirley Miller on July 31, 1948 in Hudson, WI.  He was a WWII US Army veteran serving in the European Theater with the 208thField Artillery, Patton’s 3rd Army. His division earned 5 Bronze Battle Stars.  For 38 years he was employed with Hamm’s Brewery.  Following his retirement, they moved to Aitkin to have a great retirement.

Alfred is survived by his wife, Shirley; one son, Michael Sarracco; two daughters, Sharon Fiske and Debra (Scott) Nordby; one sister, Josephine Mancuso; six grandchildren, Laura, Nikki, Brad, Gregg, Charlie and Dennis and one great granddaughter, August.

A Graveside service will be at 12:45 p.m. on Monday, January 6th 2020 at the Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis with full military honors (Assembly Area 3).  Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
