Alice Elizabeth Johnson

Alice Elizabeth Johnson age 96 of Elk River formerly of Bay Lake died at the Guardian Angel Care Center in Elk River on November 11, 2014. She was born on September 22, 1918 in New Ulm, MN to Herman and Clara (Schmidt) Battig. Alice married Paul Lowell Johnson on May 10, 1940 in Minneapolis. She was a director at Golden Valley Nursery School and owned and operated Alice's Antiques in Crosby for 24 years. She participated in many shows in the Twin Cities Area.
Survivors include 2 sons, Lowell (Barbara) Johnson of Buffalo and Kurt Johnson of Elk River; 3 daughters, Suzanne Johnson of San Francisco, CA, Kate (Mark) Helling of River Falls, WI and Teresa (Aram) Nazarian of San Francisco, CA; 1 sister, Margaret Kolb of Elk River; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband Paul in 1985; one son, Thomas Johnson and a brother, Harold Battig.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am on Monday, November 17, 2014 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Deerwood. Burial will be at Gethsemane Cemetery in New Hope on Tuesday, November 18th at 12:00 pm. Visitation will be held on Monday 1 hour prior to the services at the church on Monday. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
