Audrey Elizabeth Godfrey

Audrey Elizabeth Godfrey age 95 of Crosby died on November 4, 2016 at Heartwood Senior Living in Crosby. She was born on November 19, 1920 in St. Paul to Charles and Mary (Eue) Zwicky. She married Vernon Godfrey on September 9, 1944 in St. Paul. Audrey was a owner of the Deerwood True Value Hardware Store (Godfrey Hardware) in Deerwood from 1971 to 1990. She was a member of the Deerwood Civic League.
Audrey is survived by two sons, Thomas (Sandra) Godfrey of Backus and Edward (Sherri) Godfrey of Deerwood; two daughters, Judith (Robert) Harting of Brainerd and Patricia (Oliver) Vang of Deerwood; fourteen grandchildren, thirty-one great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
Preceding Audrey in death are her parents; her husband, Vernon; one great grandson, Zack Godfrey; two brothers, Fr. Richard Zwicky and Dr. Robert Zwicky; and two sisters, Marcella Gammell and Marie Liberko.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am on Friday, November 11, 2016 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Deerwood. Burial will be at the Bay Lake Township Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday at the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby from 4 to 7 pm with a prayer service at 5:00 pm. and also 1 hour prior to the services at the church on Friday.
