Barbara Jane "Bonnie" Christenson

Barbara Jane “Bonnie” Christenson age 92 of Crosby died February 11, 2017 at Heartwood Senior Living in Crosby. She was born on March 2, 1924 in Grantsburg, WI to Gotfred and Jeanette (Magnuson) Eckberg. Bonnie was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Deerwood. She was instrumental in the creation of Salem West and its social ministries. She was a member of the church choir and the Rebecca Circle. Bonnie was also a member of the Deerwood Civic League, the Cuyuna Range Women’s Club and the American Field Service (AFS).
Bonnie is survived by four sons, Ronald Christenson of Crosby, Roger (Diana) Christenson of Madison, AL, John (Wendy) Christenson of Deerwood and James (Judy) Christenson of Deerwood; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Preceding Bonnie in death are her parents; her husband, Wally; and two sisters, Anita Anderson and Virginia Rassett.
A Celebration of Bonnie’s Life will be 1:00 pm on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at the Salem Lutheran Church in Deerwood. Burial will be at the Deerwood Scandia Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of services at the church on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Salem Lutheran Church’s Music Ministry. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
