Barbara Cynthia Skone
March 9, 1944 — July 22, 2016
Barbara Cynthia Simons Skone, age 72, of Deerwood, passed peacefully on July 22, 2016 after a long battle with dementia.
Barb loved her family more than anything, and enjoyed spending time with her children. She was a generous person who would stop at nothing in the quest for the perfect gift for friends and loved ones.
Her infectious personality drew many to her, especially children. She always had stories, tricks or goodies to share whenever any child was near. They all left with smiles on their faces. She wasn't happy without a dog or cat in her life, and she loved many in her lifetime.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis Henry Simons, and Lucia (Picha) Simons.
She is survived by her children Justin Skone of Virginia Beach, VA and Jennifer (Richard) Scherff of Frederic, WI; Brother Joe (Sharon) Simons of Crosby, MN; two grandsons, Ryan and Nathan Skone, of Virginia Beach, VA; one nephew, Chad (Dana) Simons of Grand Rapids, MN and two nieces, Tricia (Reed) Boltmann of Edina, MN and Erika (Scott) Savor of Maple Grove, MN.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday July 28, 2016 at the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby. Burial will be at the Deerwood Scandia Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the funeral home on Thursday.
