Basil Paul LeBlanc age 88 of Crosby died on June 25, 2012 at the Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby. He was born on May 17, 1924 in Crosby to George and Mary (Bellmore) LeBlanc. He was a WWII Navy veteran serving on the US Wyman in the Pacific Theater. He was a retired barber at the Brainerd Regional Human Service Center. He was an avid outdoors man, enjoying both fishing and hunting. Survivors include 4 sons, Basil (Shelly) LeBlanc Jr. of Rice, Adrian (Diane) LeBlanc of Emily, Paul (Patricia) LeBlanc of Houston, TX and David (Renee Bestul) of Baxter; 1 daughter, Carol Moore of Detroit Lakes; 3 brothers, George (Nancy) LeBlanc of Deerwood, John (Ellen) LeBlanc of Virginia, and Jim (Florence) LeBlanc of Crosby; 2 sisters, Margaret Anderson of Medford, WI and Bridget Ann (Gordon) Arnold of Palatine, Ill ; sixteen grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. Preceding him in death are his parents, his wife, Doris; 2 grandchildren, David and Don Moore, Son-in- law, Ron Moore, 2 brothers, Earl and Robert LeBlanc, and foster parents, Carl and Charlotte O'Berg. Funeral services will be 1 pm on Monday, July 2, 2012 at the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby. Burial will be at the Pine Ridge Cemetery in Emily with full military honors given by the Myrin-James American Legion Post #443 of Ironton. Friends may call at the Koop Funeral Home on Sunday from 4 to 7 pm and on Monday one hour prior to the funeral home.
