Bernice Esther Schley

Bernice Esther Schley age 89 of Garrison died on June 14, 2017 at Diamond Willow in Baxter. She was born on February 25, 1928 in Harding to John and Mary (Brisk) Kurtz. Bernice married John Schley Jr. in Harding on September 16, 1954. She was a retired accountant with the Brainerd Regional Human Service Center with 23 years of service. Bernice was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Garrison and its Ladies Guild, the Garrison Lions Club; the Pine Center School PTA and a past Jack Pine 4H Leader.
Bernice is survived by her husband, John; one son, Gregory Schley of Garrison; four daughters, Susan (Anthony) Candelaria of Tuscan, AZ, Jacqueline(Bruce) Wiley of Osseo, Ann Schley of St. Paul and Jeanne (Brad) Sharps of Littleton, CO; ten grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
Preceding Bernice in death are her parents; two sisters, Lorraine Hayes and Dorothy Piasecki and one brother, John Kurtz Jr.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Garrison. Burial will be at the Garrison Community Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church on Saturday. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
