Bruce Edwin Blom, age 59 of Ironton, passed away on October 28, 2024, at the Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby, MN. He Born on January 22,1965. Bruce grew up in Deerwood, graduating from the Crosby-Ironton High School in 1983 and later earning an Associate Degree in Business Administration from Brainerd Community College.
Bruce's career was marked by significant stints in challenging environments, working on various contract positions on military bases in Iraq and the Bakken oil fields of North Dakota. His dedication to service was also evident in his commitment to the Ironton Fire Department, where he served for 20 years before retiring.
Beyond his professional life, Bruce was known for his friendly, caring, and outgoing personality. He had a passion for riding motorcycles and cherished the time spent with friends and family. Bruce's love for adventure and his warm, engaging nature will be remembered by all who knew him.
Bruce is survived by his son, Derek Blom; his mother, Mardell Blom; brothers, Brian (Priscilla) Blom, Jeffrey (Alicia) Blom, Raymond (Patricia) Blom; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Richard Edwin Blom.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Myrin-James American Legion Post in Ironton on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Bruce's life and legacy will be honored in the town that he loved and served, surrounded by those who cherished him. His final resting place will be at the Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby, MN. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
