Carl Vierkant

Carl John Vierkant age 94 of Emily formerly of Foley died April 14, 2011 at the Grand Village in Grand Rapids. He was born on April 5, 1917 in Mayhew Lake Township, MN to Carl and Grace (Garzmams) Vierkant. He married Irene M. Demo on December 3, 1938 in St. Cloud. Carl was a retired employee of Franklin Manufacturing in St. Cloud with 31 years of service. He also farmed in the Foley area until 1983, when they moved to Emily. He was a former owner and operator of the Ronneby CafAC. in Ronneby. He was a member of the International Association of Machinist; Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Outing and the 50 plus club in Emily. Survivors include daughter, Judy (Mike) Czeck of Longville; 2 brothers, Ernest Vierkant of Minneapolis and Edward Vierkant of Chicago, IL; 1 sister, Grace Frantz of Chicago, IL; 2 grandchildren, Brenda Czeck of Denver, CO and Michael Czeck of Rice and 2 great grandchildren, Katelyn Czeck and Cody Czeck. Preceding him in death are his parents, wife Irene in 2003; daughter, Joyce Ann Nighthare, 1975; 1 brother, Julius Vierkant and 3 sisters, Tillie Henireckson, Louise Imasato and Johanna Kath. Funeral services will be 10:30 am Tuesday, April 19th at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Outing. Burial will be at the Benton County Cemetery in Sauk Rapids at 2:30 pm. Friends may call on Tuesday 1 hour prior to the services at the church. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
