Carla Jean Barker

Carla Jean Barker, age 91 of Crosby, passed away on March 7, 2026 at

Heartwood Care Center in Crosby. She was born on January 3, 1935 in Watertown, SD to Nels and Nina (Andersen) Enevoldsen.

Carla graduated from the Watertown, SD High School, class of 1953. In 1956 she received her Register Nursing Degree at the Sioux Valley Hospital Nursing School in Sioux Falls, SD. After working for several hospitals she retired in 1993.

Carla is survived by two sons, Rodney (Dawn) Barker of Salt Lake City, UT and Scott Barker of Baxter; two daughters, Sheryl (Tim) Shelley of Ironton and Shawn Morehouse of Higginson of AR; twenty- one grandchildren and twenty-six great grandchildren.

Preceding Carla in death are her parents; her husband Dorsey; her daughter, Kristina Blake; her son Michael Barker; one granddaughter, Amber Foulkes and two stepchildren, Cynthia Wolter and Thomas Barker.

A Graveside service will be held at later date. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
