Charles "Bill" Miller

November 13, 1931 — June 10, 2025

Charles W. "Bill" Miller, age 93 of Deerwood, passed away on June 10, 2025, in Seattle, Washington.  He was born in Crosby, Minnesota, on November 13, 1931, to Albert A. and Frances  Miller.  He graduated from the Crosby-Ironton High School, class of 1950.  Bill was united in marriage with Angeline "Angie" Chopp on July 25, 1953 in Crosby.

Bill grew up in Bay Lake, Minnesota, where his parents operated Miller's Garage and Miller's Cabins, a small summer resort.  He was the fourth generation of Miller's to live in the Bay Lake area.

Bill went to Korea in 1951 and proudly served as a member of the United States Marine Corps, 1st Battalion, 1st Marine Division.

He worked as a miner for Inland Steel, in the last operating underground mine on the Cuyuna Range and later went to work for Scorpion Snowmobiles in their Research and Development department.  He worked on a land surveying crew for his employer and friend Wallace Buckler.

He will be remembered by family and friends for being hard working, and a talented mechanic and handyman.  His daughters will remember him as being no nonsense, but also a practical joker, for teaching them the practicalities of life, like learning how to drive a snowmobile, then a car, and for loving them and letting them go, to experience life on their own terms.

Bill is survived by his daughters, Marsha (David Minkel) Miller of Pagosa Springs, CO., and Kay MacDonald of Seattle, WA; and one grandchild, Meredith MacDonald of Seattle, WA.

Preceding Bill in death are his wife Angeline "Angie" Miller, his parents, an infant son, a brother and his grandson .

Burial will be at Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby, at a later date.
