Clara Johnson

Clara Irene Johnson age 100 of Crosby died on April 16, 2014 at the Cuyuna Regional Care Center in Crosby. She was born on August 6, 1913 in Federal Dam to Carl and Beda (Morine) Armbrust. Clara moved to Crosby with her family in 1917. She was a graduate of the Crosby-Ironton High School in 1931 and was employed in Minneapolis and Crosby prior to her marriage in 1939. She was an excellent seamstress, and loved to bake and cook. She was an active member of the Crosby-Ironton Presbyterian Church and served as an elder, Sunday school teacher and a member of the Presbyterian Women's Association. She was also a member of the Agate Rebekah Lodge for 50 years and belonged to a Knitting Club.

Clara is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Wayne Brezina of Deerwood; grandchildren, Melanie Whelan of MD, Becky Faust of NC, Brent Nichols of MD, Christine Weldon of IL, Margaret Brezina of FL and Heather Barry of Minneapolis; nine grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

She is preceded in death by her parent; husband, Leslie Johnson, daughter, Linda J. Nichols and a sister, Lorine Korting.

Memorial services will be 11 am on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at the Salem Lutheran Church in Deerwood. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the services at the church on Saturday.
