Clarence "Jim" Stirewalt

Clarence “Jim” Stirewalt age 86 of Deerwood died on August 9, 2018 at his home.  He was born on August 29, 1931 in Crosby to Clarence J. and Ruth (Chenevert) Stirewalt.  Jim was a Korean War Air Force veteran.  He was a member of the Walter Scott Erickson American Legion Post #557, Deerwood and the Garrison VFW.

Jim is survived by his wife, Betty;  two sons; Daniel (Leilani) Stirewalt of Crosby and Jerry (Uli) Stirewalt of Brainerd; three daughters, Debra (Mark) Soderman of Cottage Grove, Diane (Ken) Billick of Fort Morgan, CO and Rhonda (Wayne) Fuller of Wanatah, IN; three brothers, Richard (Brenda) Stirewalt of Deerwood, John (Dixie) Stirewalt of Perham, and Robert (Bonnie) Stirewalt of Sturgeon Lake; twenty one grandchildren, twenty five great grandchildren.

Preceding Jim in death are his parents; two sons, Steven and Sammy Stirewalt; grandson, Christopher Stirewalt; granddaughter, Rebecca Stirewalt; one brother, Dennis Stirewalt and one sister, Jeanne Bodle

A Memorial Gathering will be Sunday, August 12, 2018 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.  Sharing of Memories will start at 4:00 p.m.  A reception will follow at the Walter Scott Erickson American Legion Post in Deerwood.
