Dale Douglas Abear

Dale Douglas Abear age 69 of Iron Hub died on September 19, 2014 at his home. He was born in Crosby on December 1, 1944 to Douglas and Ethel (Harms) Abear. Dale married Marlene Lindo on July 27, 1969 in Center City. He was a retired employee of MNDOT with 27 years of service. He was a Crosby-Ironton High School graduate, class of 1962. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Iron Hub; the National Guard; the Aitkin American Legion Post # 0086; and the Iron Hub Softball Team. Dale enjoyed playing guitar and singing country music, spending time with his grandchildren outdoors with his gator; Friday afternoon happy hour club; golfing; woodworking; camping and wintering in Lake Havasu, AZ.

Survivors include his wife, Marlene; 2 daughters, Julie Abear of Burnsville and Jenn (Tony) Klee of Aitkin; 2 grandchildren, Gavin and Kenzie Klee; 1 brother, Terry Abear of Deerwood; 2 sisters, Renee (Claude) Gilmer of Deerwood and Sue (Rick) Johnson of Deerwood; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dale is preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Iron Hub. Burial will be at the Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday at the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby from 5:00 to 7:00 pm and 1 hour prior to the services at the church on Thursday.
