Dale Clifton Monson

Dale C. Monson, age 98 of Irondale Township died on November 21, 2020 at his home.  He was born on September 3, 1922 in Riverton to Ole and Minnie (Anderson) Monson.  He was a WWII Navy veteran.  Dale married Marjorie Holsapple on July 16, 1940 in Brainerd.  He was a retired employee with Burlington Northern in Brainerd.  He was a member of the Myrin-James American Legion Post #443, Ironton and attended the Bible Baptist Church in Crosby.  Dale was an avid outdoors man, together with his wife harvested wildrice right up till he was 90 years old and was very passionate about hunting, fishing and trapping.

Dale is survived by two sons, Brad (Mary) Monson of Brainerd and Barry (Marge) Monson of Maple Lake; eight daughters, Karen Hines of Brainerd, Lorna (Harry) Hurst of Mohave Valley, AZ, Dayle (Edwin) Meagher of Humansville, MO, Sandra Willman of Topeka, KS, Brenda Wheeler of Palmdale, CA, Cheryle (Michael) Thiesen of Prior Lake, Shelley (Jim) Lundgren of Ironton and Sherree (Michael) Voss of Buffalo; Thirty three grandchildren, seventy six great grandchildren and twenty seven great-great grandchildren. Dale will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Preceding Dale in death are his parents; his wife, Marjorie; one son, Shayne Monson; 5 brothers and 4 sisters; and 4 grandchildren, Bryce Monson, Freddy Chaltron, Denise Fairchild and Marcy Palermo; sons-in-law, Marion Hines and Roy Wheeler.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 4, 2020 at the Bible Baptist Church in Crosby.  Burial will be at the Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby with military honors by the Myrin-James American Legion Post #443.  A visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.  Please follow social distancing guidelines. The service will be live streamed on Crosby Bible Baptist Church facebook page.
