Darlene Frances Airhart age 86 of Crosby died on July 14, 2014 at Essentia St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd. She was born on September 28, 1927 in Wadena to Lloyd and Frances (Zimmerman) Ellingworth. She was a member of the Cascade United Methodist Church in Deerwood and the United Methodist Women as NE District President in 2006. Darlene had a love for serving others and volunteered for numerous events and organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, the Croft Mine, she served as a Senior Companion, and most recently tutoring Crosby Elementary Students from her wheelchair.

Darlene is survived by 2 sons, Durwood (Jackie) Airhart of Litchfield and Thomas Airhart of Aitkin; 2 daughters, Susan Airhart of Emily, Genese (James) Colberg of Miltona; Daughter-in-law, Pat Airhart; 2 brothers, Raymond (Susan) Ellingworth of New York Mills and John (Debbie) Ellingworth of Hudson, WI; 2 sisters, Ramona Olson of Menahga, Peggy (Gerald) Porter of Deer Creek; Sisters-in-law, Delores Rentz, Rae Mona Leonhart, Peggy Airhart and Dorothy Fry; Brothers-in-law, Isadore "Nibs" Lorentz and Jack Carter; Twenty five grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death are her parents, husband James Airhart in 1986; 2 sons, Ronald and Donald Airhart; daughter, Gurene Martin; daughters-in-law, Sheila Airhart and Florence Airhart; brothers, Warren, Lloyd, Jr. and infant Norman; sisters, Berniece Lorentz and Marlyce Carter and infant Jeanette; brother-in-law, Martin Olson; and several grandchildren and other loved ones.

Funeral services will be 11 am on Saturday July 19, 2014 at Cascade United Methodist Church in Deerwood. Burial will be at the Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby. Visitation will be on Friday from 5 to 7 pm at the Koop Funeral Home and 1 hour prior to the services at the church on Saturday.
