Darlene Marie Gustafson

Darlene Marie Gustafson, age 89 of Deerwood, passed away on September 19, 2026 at her home. She was born in Minneapolis on May 20, 1937 to Herman and Teresa (O’Keefe) Mevissen.

Darlene was a retired secretary for the St. Louis Park School District with 25 years of service. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Garrison.

Survivors include her daughter, Carole (Robert “Bob”) Otto of Brainerd; two sons, Martin Gustafson of Buffalo and Dale Gustafson of Crystal; four grandchildren, Ted (Julie) Otto of Brainerd, Nicki Gustafson of Buffalo, David (Katie) Otto of Brainerd and Lisa (Kyle) Roggenkamp of Stacy and nine great grandchildren.

Preceding Darlene in death are her parents; her husband, Roger in 1998; an infant son; and two brothers, Kenneth Mevissen and Allen Mevissen.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2026 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Garrison. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at the Calvery Cemetery in Anoka. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
