Darrell Francis Schneider, age 88, of Crosslake passed away on November 25, 2024, in Brainerd. He was born March 21, 1936, in Minneapolis.
Darrell was an active member of Immaculate Heart Catholic Church, Crosslake and the Knights of Columbus. He was a graduate of De LaSalle High School and the University of Minnesota, earning a BS degree in Geological Engineering. He was a registered Professional Civil Engineer. He was the former owner and president of Consulting Engineers Diversified in Maple Grove and City Engineer for many Minnesota municipalities. He was past President of MTC, on the Central Lake College Board of Directors, and the Mayor of the City of Crosslake, 2011 to 2014. He was a charter member of the Rotary, Brooklyn Park, MN, and president of Brainerd Rotary. Other memberships include the Lions Club, the Jaycees, MOLES, Brainerd Area Amateur Radio Club and WAPOA.
Darrell’s family enjoyed his talent as a gifted and avid photographer. He had a passion for fishing and life at Crosslake.
Darrell is survived by his wife of 66 years, Colleen; four children Darrell (Deb) Schneider Jr., Linda (Thomas) Cummings, Gregory (Jennifer) Schneider and Bradley Schneider; two siblings Marilyn (Wayne) Nelson and Jack (Kathy) Schneider; and six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by parents Francis and Irene Schneider and brother Gary Schneider.
Visitation will be at Immaculate Heart Catholic Church on Tuesday, December 10, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 6:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be at Immaculate Heart Catholic Church in Crosslake at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 11, preceded with reviewal at 11:00, and lunch immediately following Mass. Burial will be at Pinewood Cemetery in Crosslake. Arrangements are through Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
