David Christopher Smith

David Christopher Smith, age 58 of Bird Island died on May 16, 2023 at his home.  He was born in Minneapolis on January 8, 1965 to Everett and Jeanne (Scavo) Smith.  David graduated from the Crosby-Ironton High School class of 1983.  He was a long-time truck driver for Transystems Sugar Beet Transportation in Renville.

David is survived by four brothers, Leslie (Julie) Smith of Duluth, Alan Smith of Cuyuna, Daniel Smith of Brainerd and Patrick Smith of Roseau; and one sister, Lynn (Mark) Nilson of Ogilvie.

Preceding David in death are his parents; two brothers, Tim and Gary Smith; and two sisters,

Marianne and Nancy Smith.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Sunday, October 22, 2023 at the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Burial will be at the Woodland Cemetery in Irondale Township.
