Dean Michael Balster

Dean Michael Balster, age 59 of Brainerd, passed away unexpectedly on September 30, 2025.  He was born in Slayton, MN on July 23, 1966 to Harold and Colleen (Berg) Balster.  Dean was united in marriage to Barbara Sunde on June 11, 1994 in Nisswa.

Dean was proudly employed as a carpenter with Hy-Tec Construction in Brainerd.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara; his son, Alex (Adam) Balster of Brainerd; his daughters, Nicole (Ryan) Goehring of Herreid, SD and Sophie (Nicole) Tucker of Pequot Lakes; his parents, Harold and Colleen Balster of Brainerd; three sisters, Debby Keefer of Round Mountain, TX, Dawn (Scott) Heide of Pillager and DeAnne (Rodney) Pierzinski of Lake Shore; and three grandchildren, Molly, Madison and Chase Goehring.

A Celebration of Life Open House will start at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at Dean's home (18938 Maryville Road in Brainerd).  Please come join his family to share memories, laugh and honor his life at his favorite place, home. Snacks and refreshments will be available throughout the afternoon. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
