Donald Turman Gould

Donald Gould age 84 of Crosby died on May 24, 2014 at his home on Rabbit Lake. He was born on November 13, 1929 at Saint Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN to Roy and Laurnea (Holscher) Gould. He grew up in Dodge Center where he attended school and graduated from Dodge Center High School. Further education included Junior College in Rochester with an Associates Degree and then attended Dunwoody Institute, graduating with a degree in Auto Mechanics. He worked with his father who owned the Buick Chevrolet dealership in Dodge Center.

Don married Lela Wright on August 1, 1951 in Kasson, MN. While in Dodge Center, Don was a member of the Sportsmen's Club, the Fire Department Rescue Squad and also served on the Board of Trustees for the Methodist Church. Don and Lela along with their children, moved to Crosby in 1970. He worked for Scorpion as a field warranty representative for a short time before starting his job in Crosby as a bus driver, eventually he owned and operated the school buses until 1988. He was a very active member with the Cuyuna Range Masonic Lodge in Crosby, receiving his 50 year pin, a life member of the NRA, life member of Lakeshore Gun Club, a member of the Minnesota Trapshooting Association, where he received a 25,000 handicap and 25,000 singles. He was also president of the Cuyuna Range Lions Club, a member of the Board of Directors at Unity Bank in Crosby, a member of the Cascade United Methodist Church in Deerwood. His hobbies included motorcycling the US, which included Alaska, Canada and Newfoundland; Snowmobiling, riding four wheelers, playing cards and celebrating the 4th of July with his fireworks.

Don is survived by his wife Lela; son, Thomas (Shelley); daughter, Suzanne (Jeffery) Evans; grandchildren, Leah (Ryan) Olk, Anna Gould, Nicole, Gregory, Daniel and Erica Evans; 2 great grandchildren, Evrette and Truett.

Preceding him in death are his parents; and one brother, David Gould.

Funeral services will be held on 11am Friday, May 30, 2014 at the Cascade United Methodist Church in Deerwood. Burial will be at the Evergreen Cemetery in Mantorville, MN 2 pm on Saturday. Visitation will be held on Thursday at the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby from 4 to 8 pm with a Masonic Service at 7 pm. Visitation will continue on Friday for 1 hour prior to services at the church on Friday. If desired memorials are preferred to the Parkinson's Association or to the Cascade United Methodist Church in lieu of flowers.
