Donald Duane Prchal age 71 of Bay Lake Township died at his home on December 6, 2014. He was born on August 30, 1943 in Breckenridge, MN to Thomas and Helen (Kopecky) Prchal. Don was a retired heavy equipment operator with the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 49 with 35 years of service. He was proud of impacting the skyline of the Twin Cities. He participated in the construction of the IDS building in Minneapolis and the first ice castle of St. Paul.
Don is survived by his step-mother, Patricia Prchal of Wahpeton, ND; 3 daughters, Sunday (Bob) Hoy of White Bear Lake, Annette (Chuck) Robinson of Harris, MN and Angie Prchal of Forest Lake; 2 brothers, Ken Prchal of Wahpeton, ND and Ron (Denise) Prchal of Dalton, MN; 1 sister, Beverly Hansen of Eagan, MN; an Aunt, Rosemarie Povlitzki of North St. Paul; and four grandchildren, Josh Ford, Capri Schmidt, Fisher Hoy, and Tanner Hoy.
Don is preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be 1 pm on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby. Burial will be at the Bay Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the services on Thursday. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
