Donald R. Saxum

Donald Raymond Saxum age 78 of Bay Lake died on January 5, 2012 at his home. He was born on June 1, 1933 in Minneapolis to Henry and Lydia (Berglund) Saxum. Don married Patricia Swanson on July 20, 1956 in Brooklyn Center. He was retired group manager for Sears in Minneapolis with 32 years of service. Don was an US army veteran, serving in the Korean Conflict. Don was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church in Deerwood; member of the Bay Lake Area Lions Club and was the 1st driver for their mobility bus; served 2 terms as the Bay Lake Township Supervisor; and past member of the Cuyuna Country Club. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Pat; 3 sons, Donald Saxum of Nisswa, Steven (Cathy) Saxum Of Baxter and Douglas (Charity) Saxum of St. Francis; 1 daughter, Terri Saxum of Deerwood; 6 grandchildren, Cassie, Torie, David, Gunner, TiAnne and Goldie Saxum; 2 sisters, (twin) Dorothy Saxum of Brooklyn Park and Harriet Saxum of New Hope. Preceding him in death are his parents, son, David and 1 brother, Jerold Saxum. Funeral services will be 2:30 pm on Monday, January 9, 2012 at the Salem Lutheran Church in Deerwood. Friends may call on Monday 1 hour prior to the services at the church on Monday. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
