Donna Mae Boettcher

December 13, 1923 — August 6, 2011

Donna Mae (Hartke) Boettcher was born on December 13, 1923 at Trimont (formerly Monterey), MN, the daughter of Frank and Lillie (Waswo) Hartke. After graduating from high school Donna attended Nettleton Commercial College in Sioux Falls, S.D.

Donna married Donald Boettcher, also of Trimont June 18, 1942, in Sioux Falls, S.D. Donna returned to Trimont to live in the fall of 1942 when Don was inducted into the army. Donna worked for Farmers State Bank in Trimont until 1955 when she moved with her husband and family to Winnebago.

Donna served as bookkeeper for the feed store business she and Don owned, and later as bookkeeper for Storkelys canning factory and the S and L clothing store in Winnebago. In 1967, Donna and family moved to Brandon, S.D. where she continued her career as a bookkeeper for Fantels Department Store in Sioux Falls and Sweetman Construction. Donna retired form Sweetman's due to ill health in 1989, where she had been in charge of accounts receivable for nineteen years.

Donna enjoyed dancing, playing cards, and spending time with family.

Donna is survived by her daughter Kay and husband Jim, Remer, MN; son, Gil and wife Mary (Marnach), Rochester, MN; grandchildren; Matt Boettcher, Rochester, MN, Monte Johnson and wife Jennifer, Victoria, MN; Kari Roberts and husband, Bill of St. Paul, MN; Ryan and wife Alonna of Newfolden, MN; and great grandchildren, Braden and Tanner Johnson, Gavin, Isaac and Brooke Roberts, Micah and Owen Johnson, and many nieces and nephews.

Donna was preceded in death by her husband, Don; her parents; and her sister Arlene (Hartke) Hanson
