Doris Emmaline Maier age 77 of Brainerd died on August 11, 2012 at her home. She was born on November 24, 1934 in Bemidji, MN to George and Nora (Danielson) Evenson. She married Wayne Leslie Maier on August 16, 1952 in Brainerd. With her husband Wayne they own and operate the Hidden Paradise Resort in Brainerd. Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Wayne; 2 sons, Lawrence (Norma) Maier of St. Cloud And Bruce (Ellen) Maier of Brainerd; 2 daughters, Brenda (Mark) BonAmie of St. Cloud and Tamra (Kenneth) Athmann of Brainerd; her mother, Nora Evenson of Sartell; 1 brother, John (Karen) Evenson of Sartell ; 1 sister, Norma Soderstrom of Buffalo; 8 grandchildren, Theresa Curtis, Tina Maier, Kristopher Maier, Pamela BonAmie, Leea Maier, Deana Maier, Allan Neiman and Nathan Maier; 4 great grandchildren, Caidan Curtis, Emma Maier, Jaxten BonAmie, and Carter ChirChir. Preceding her in death are her father and 1 brother, George "Dick" Evenson. Funeral services will be 11 am on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Crosby. Friends may call on Friday at the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby from 4 to 8 pm and on Saturday 1 hour prior to the services at the church.
