Earl Anthony Mailhot

Earl Anthony Mailhot age 80 of Deerwood died at his home on June 2, 2015. He was born on May 12, 1935 in Crosby to Arthur and Ida (Carlson) Mailhot. He married Joyce Vroman on March 18, 1955 in Crosby. He was a retired Assistant Engineer with the State of Minnesota's Department of Mines and Minerals with 40 years of service. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Crosby, Snow Serpent Snowmobile Club and was instrumental in setting up the local trails. He was also a member of the board that got the Cuyuna Range Recreational Area development.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Joyce; 4 sons, Marty (Sandra) Mailhot of Cochren, Georgia, Mike (Elly) Mailhot of Crosby, Joe Mailhot of Corcoran, MN and Jamie (Amy) Mailhot of Cannon Falls, MN; 1 daughter, Julie (Kevin) Underdahl of Nerstrand, MN; 1 sister, Marion Brown of Monrovia, CA; fourteen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and special nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death are his parents; 6 brother, John, Lloyd, Vern, Maurice, Raymond and Harold Mailhot; and 3 sisters, Avis Nyberg, Angeline Mitchell and Alvina Peterson.

Funeral services will be 6:00 pm on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Crosby. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the services at the church on Wednesday. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers. Earl's family plans to dedicate funds for cancer research and a bench for the Cuyuna Recreation Area. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
