Edward James Engen

Edward James Engen age 77 of Outing died on June 24, 2015 at Essentia St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd. He was born on February 25, 1938 in St. Paul to Hartwick and Greta (Weber) Engen. Ed married the love of his life, Judith Ann McCloskey on May 18, 1957. He was retired U.S. Postal Service employee with 30 years of service to the St. Paul, Brainerd and Outing Areas. He was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Outing.
Ed is survived by his wife of 58 years, Judy; 2 sons, Scott Engen of Brainerd and Michael (Cindy) Engen of Merrifield; 2 daughters Lynn (Steve) Slettedahl of Elk River and Lorelie Huesmann of Baxter; 2 brothers, Gerald Engen of Stillwater and Robert (Diane) Engen of Fairview Township; 2 sisters, Diane (Steven) Newcomer of Apple Valley and Judyann Engen of Crosslake; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Preceding Ed in death are his parents and one sister, Mary Alexander.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm on Sunday, June 28, 2015 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Outing. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the services at the church. If desired memorials are preferred to Our Saviors Lutheran Church in lieu of flowers. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
