Eileen Ferrari

Eileen Carol (Maloney McCormick) Ferrari age 71 of Crosby died on January 4, 2013 at the St. Cloud Hospital. She was born on July 13, 1941 in St. Paul, MN, the 6th of 7 children born to Daniel and Ella (Oertlepp) Maloney. Eileen's mother passed away suddenly in January of 1944. Her father was unable to keep the family together and the younger children were placed in St. Joseph's Orphanage and then foster care. Eileen and her younger sister Patricia were adopted by Ronald and Norma McCormick after WWII. In 1984 Eileen reunited with her birth family and enjoyed a loving relationship with her brothers and sisters. Eileen was a 1959 graduate of Our Lady of Peace High School and a proud 1962 graduated of the St. Cloud Hospital School of Nursing where she earned an RN. She later earned her Public Health Nurse and School of Nursing certificate. She worked at Miller Hospital in St. Paul, the VA Medical Center, St Cloud and the St. Cloud Hospital. She then became the City of St. Cloud's Public Health Nurse providing health care to the community and the numerous parochial schools in the area. In 1987 she became the school nurse for the Crosby-Ironton Schools where she worked until retirement in 2001.

Eileen married Bob Ferrari, Sr. on February 16, 1963 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in St. Paul, MN. To the union were born four children, Lisa (Dale) Sova of Crosby, Bob Jr of Crosby, Matt (Ann) of Two Harbors and Gina (Tim) McKanna of Crosby. Eileen was the proud grandmother of eight, Abby, Nate and Zach Sova, Buddy, Giorgi and Dominic Ferrari, and Kate and Kim Ferrari. She is also survived by brother, Dan Maloney of Little Canada; Sisters, Shirley (Garrett) Meyers of Eagan and Patricia (Frank) Slater of Forest Lake and many other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Don, Ed and Jim Maloney. A memorial mass will 10:00 am on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Crosby. Burial will be at the Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby. Friends call at the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby on Friday from 4 to 8 with a rosary at 7 pm. Memorials are being designated to establish The Eileen Ferrari Scholarship of Nursing Education.
