Eleanor Mae Brennan

Eleanore Brennan Age 78 of Crosby passed away April 24, 2013 at the Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby. She was born on April 29, 1934 in Duluth, MN to John and Mamie (Hill) Abramson. Elli took great pride in her family as a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was an accomplished pianist. After suffering a stroke at age 48, she learned to play duets with her fellow stroke-affected friend, Mary, by playing with her left hand while Mary played with her right. She was a long-term employee at Ruttger's Bay Lake Lodge in Bay Lake. Preceding her in death are her husband, Roy Brennan, and siblings, John "Ernie" and Lillian. She is survived by her children, Colleen (Gary) Brudvig; Steve (Jenny) Leiser; Mark (Clara) Leiser; and Christine (Randy) Hills; 12 grandchildren, and 1 great-granddaughter; many nieces, nephews and friends. A special thank you to her loving caregivers from Home Instead - Brainerd and at Heartwood Senior Living. Memorial services will be held on Friday, May 17, at 1:00 PM at the Salem Lutheran Church in Deerwood. Burial will be at the Diamond Lake Cemetery near Aitkin. Friends may call 1 hour prior to services at the church. Memorials are preferred to the Copper Range Historical Society in South Range, MI; Courage Center; or Minnesota Stroke Association. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home of Crosby.
