Elizabeth Matilda “ Liz” Melquist age 86 of Crosby died on January 28, 2017 at Heartwood Senior Living in Crosby. She was born on August 26, 1930 in Crosby to Jacob and Frances (Sustersic) Ravnik. Liz was a retired auditor with Midway National Bank in St. Paul with 35 years of service. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Crosby, the National Society of Catholic Foresters, St Mary’s Court #854 and the Myrin-James American Legion Auxiliary Post #443, Ironton.
Liz is survived by two brothers, Jacob (Marlys) Ravnik of Crosby and Frank (Nellie) Ravnik of Missoula, MT; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding Liz in death are her parents; her husband Ben in 1988; four brothers, John, Adolph, Henry and Edward Ravnik; and two sisters, Frances Ravnik and Julia Barrett.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Crosby. Burial will be at the Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church on Thursday. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
