Elizabeth McCoy age 92 of Crosby passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Heartwood Senior Living in Crosby. She was born on January 10, 1923 in Little Pine Township to Leonard and Carol (Huges) Bodle. After graduating from high school at the age of 16, then Normal Training, Elizabeth began a teaching career that lasted until she retired in 1988. She taught in small schools in Minnesota, in Alaska, then back to Minnesota, all the while taking courses at St. Cloud State University to earn a masters degree. While teaching in the Crosby-Ironton School District she was chosen as state teacher of the year.
Elizabeth is survived by one son, Douglas Starry of Emily; two daughters, Gayle (John) Mocabee of Aitkin and Kelly Carr of Houston TX; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; three brothers, Robert (Margarette) Bodle of Fifty Lakes, Albert (Jeanne) Bodle of Helena, MT and Jack (Margaret) Bodle of Longview, WA; three sisters, Eva Starry of Crosby, Donna Hite of Emily and Charlotte (Ron) Frink of Brainerd.
Preceding Elizabeth in death are her parents; first husband, Victor Starry; second husband, Kenneth McCoy and one brother, Arthur Bodle.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at the Wesleyan Church in Emily. Burial will be at the Pine Ridge Cemetery in Emily. Visitation will be from 9 am until the time of services. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
