Evelyn Agnes "Evie" Bedard

Evelyn "Evie" Agnes Bedard, 91, of Ironton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 20, at the Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby. She was surrounded by her loving family. Evie was born in Crosby on November 23, 1924, to Raymond and Agnes Forrest. She graduated from Crosby-Ironton High School in 1942 and attended Crosby-Ironton Junior College in 1942-43. She joined Consolidated Vultee Aircraft in San Diego from 1943-1945 as part of the war effort. Evie soon returned to Crosby-Ironton to marry the love of her life, Earl Bedard - to whom she was married 66 years. They raised six children together and spent their lives devoted to their family, church, and community. Evie was an active member of St Joseph's Catholic Church in Crosby, the National Catholic Society of Foresters, the Council of Catholic Women, local girl scouting, and the Myrin-James American Legion Auxiliary in Ironton. Evie enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking for loved ones and local organizations, and planning holiday celebrations. By far, Evie's greatest joy was watching her family grow. Evie was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Sidney, and his wife, Myrna. Evie is survived by her husband, Earl, her six children Rae Lynn (Paul) Schmit, Bill (Andrea) Bedard, Michele (Carl ) Hendrickson, Thomas (Bobbie) Bedard, Cynthia (David) Owens, James (Shannon) Bedard, her eleven grandchildren Derek (Amy) Hendrickson, Matthew Schmit, Kali (Jason) Peik, Marcus (Jennifer) Schmit, Korie (Michael) Johnston, Lisa Bedard, Adam (Misty) Bedard, Daniel Schmit, Aaron Bedard (fiancAC. Jodi Ryan), Tanner Bedard and Trevor Bedard, and her four great-grandchildren Treydn and Tysen Hendrickson and Jaden and Addison Peik. Evie's life will be celebrated with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM on Monday, December 28, at St Joseph's Catholic Church in Crosby. Burial will be at the Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 27, from 3 to 6 PM at Koop Funeral Home in Crosby with a rosary at 6 pm. Visitation will continue on Monday 1 hour prior to the services at the church.
