Evelyn Hegland

Evelyn L. Hegland Evelyn Leona Hegland age 97 of Ironton died on March 16, 2011 at Essentia Health's, St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd. Evelyn was born on May 4, 1913 in Ironton to David and Constance " Connie" (Myhres) Anderson. She was a resident of Crosby and Brainerd for many years. She attended Crosby-Ironton Schools, and graduated from Washington High School in Brainerd in 1931. She married Homer Hegland on September 9, 1931. Evelyn was an employee of the Cuyuna Range Clinic and retiree of Honeywell , Minneapolis. Evelyn was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Crosby; Evergreen chapter of Eastern Star #204, the Rebekah Lodge and the Crosby-Ironton Senior Citizens. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Jane Hegland of Deerwood; sister, Elaine Mailhot of Virginia Beach, VA; sister-in-law, Kathleen Anderson of Wayzata; 10 grandchildren, Lance and Michelin Hegland, Janice (Dale) Willson; Janee (Helen) Olson, Jennifer (Glen) Simons; Jeri (Ron) Poulin; Gordon (Beth) Sharp; Daniel (Shelly) Sharp, Joel (Wanda) Sharp and Laurie (Lynn) Giannonatti; 23 great grandchildren; 14 great great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceding her in death are her parents, husband Homer; daughter, Gayle Olson; granddaughter Jean, Deitering; grandson Jeffrey Olson; 2 brothers, Clifton and Vernon Anderson; and 2 sisters Eleanore Beese and Audrey Bodle. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Crosby. Friends may call 1 hour prior to the services at the church.
