Evelyn Anita Taylor

March 9, 1947 — February 15, 2017

Evelyn Anita Taylor age 69 of Deerwood died on February 15, 2017 at the Cuyuna Regional Care Center in Crosby.  She was born on March 9, 1947 in Brainerd to Olaf and Elizabeth (Virnig) Vang.  Evelyn graduated from Crosby-Ironton High School, class of 1965 and then went on to receive an AA degree from St. Cloud State University.  She was a long time employee for Hallett Construction and then Graphic Packaging until her retirement.  She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Deerwood, serving as a Trustee, Rosary Leader and a Eucharistic Minister.  She was also a member of the Walter Scott Erickson American Legion Post Auxiliary #557 in Deerwood, serving  as an officer for many years.

Evelyn is survived by four brothers, Oliver (Pat) Vang of Deerwood, Robert Vang of New Brighton, Roger (Cheryl) Vang of St. Cloud and David (Lisa) Vang of Maplewood and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding Evelyn in death are her parents and husband, Bill Taylor.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Deerwood.  Burial will be at the Scandia Cemetery in Deerwood.  Visitation will be on Friday at the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby to 4:00 to 7:00 pm with a rosary at 6:00 pm, and on Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church.
