Frank E. Starry age 92 died on March 31, 2012 at the Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby. He was born on Feb. 20, 1920 in Little Pine Township, Crow Wing County, MN to Harvey and Alice (Packer) Starry. His mother died when he and his twin brother, Gordon were born, so they were raised by their Uncle and Aunt Frank and Irene Starry. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII from April 1942- Oct. 1945. He married Eva L. Bodle on Jan 5, 1946, in Little Pine Wesleyan Church. Frank worked as a logger Iron Mining and Emily Telephone as a serviceman. He was a hunter of wild game and a fisherman. He loved to pick wild blueberries. He and Eva spent the fall of each year harvesting wild rice. He was a member of the Emily Wesleyan Church. He spent the last four years of his life at the Cuyuna Regional Care Center, where he was well taken care of. He is survived by her wife of 66 years Eva; two sons Michael (Judy) of Emily and Frank (Nathalie) of Puyallup, WA; two daughters, Marsha (Randy) Dauffenbach of Burlington, WI; Ruth (Don) Beckrich, Cuyuna, 16 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. He was preceeed in death by two sons, Dennis Wayne and David Mark; four siblings, Victor and Gordon, Violet and Ura. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Wesleyan Church in Emily with visitation one hour before the service. Burial will be at the Pine Ridge Cemetery, Emily. In Lieu of flowers memorials are preferred. Arrangements are with Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
